Briefly

Well, everything survived the frost. When we arrived the next morning to uncover everything, the blankets were all frozen stiff, so we definitely saved it by covering. Some things got a little touched but nothing died. Phew! Meanwhile, our next door neighbor didn’t even know there was a frost warning, and her garden came through just fine. We have learned that our garden site is right in the middle of a frost pocket, unlike everything surrounding it.

For pickup this week we have: heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, carrots, cucumbers, cantaloupe, zucchini, mustard greens, and green cabbage. Based on the forecast, this may well be the last week of hot-weather things like the nightshades and melon, so enjoy while you can!

We should have mentioned this long ago, but if you make something delicious with some of the veggies we grew, we’d love it if you’d pass the recipe along to us. Thanks everyone.
