Geler L’avertissement!

No idea if that title says what it’s supposed to. Thank you, online translator dictionary. What it means (possibly) is:  Freeze Warning! We already lost several tomato plants last night, and the potatoes froze, too, though they’ll grow back. But last night the weather prediction was for 36°F… tonight there’s an official freeze warning and the low is predicted at 30-35°F. We’ve covered everything the last two nights but clearly that’s not necessarily enough. It makes you wonder what the bigger farms do on these cold nights. It takes us half an hour just to cover the tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers in our little plot. No way Jim Fields is out there with all his old quilts, putting his summer crops (it is mid-June) to bed each night. Or is he?

I doubt it.
