Week-by-Week (Past Years)

Here’s a recap of what’s been in members’ pickups in the past. Unfortunately, we had to re-create this list, and due to poor record-keeping (one of the many things we have learned so much about in the past few years!), a couple of weeks are missing. Most of the information is here, though.

The beginning of 2009 (our first year running the CSA) was really rough for our little farm. A hailstorm one week before the first pick-up destroyed most of what we had in the ground and collapsed our hoophouse, which we had made using PVC pipe for the ribs. We canceled the first several weeks and refunded the weeks missed.

Since then, we’ve learned a lot and made some changes. We now have two hoophouses instead of one, and their ribs are steel. We have a lot more stuff in them, which would be protected in all but the most apocalyptic hail storm. And generally speaking, we’re growing a lot more food, so even if many things were wiped out, there would never be a week cancelled.
